Hybrid Vs Electric Cars

Electric cars: This technology is still in the growth stage and still be considered a viable alternative to fossil fuel consumption. Realistically, if the car runs on electricity exclusively, then is not emitting any gas at all. Environmentally speaking, this is terrible.
But wait a minute – How to get electric cars their power? Battery must be recharged continuously. And how recharge – connecting the vehicle into a wall outlet. And how is electricity in the making power produced? In power plants running on … you guessed it – oil, natural gas, coal, hydro (water), or nuclear energy.
That being the case, does it really help the environment when connected to your electric car? Are you really not cut consumption of renewable fuels; barely. Until the product is self-sufficient, or clean energy source, buying an electric car is like putting a bandage on a stab wound – actually does not help much at all.
Ah! – But hybrids, hybrid cars are the answer – well, maybe.
A hybrid gasoline used to operate while charging a large battery system. In various operating times (depending on vehicle) to take charge of the batteries and the motor gasoline goes off.
Now, on the one hand, this is great for increasing fuel efficiency and mileage, but on the other hand, we are still using a source non-renewable fuel. See below for a complete analysis of hybrids.
Hybrid cars – really worth it?
Due to gas prices increasing, hybrid cars are becoming more and more popular. But we must consider why you are considering buying one, because its reasoning can not be correct. There are two schools of thought for those who want to buy a hybrid car – fuel economy or environmental concerns.
If you think you will get a huge fuel cost savings through improved economy – think again. Look at this example:
Land Rover Discovery – Average fuel mileage: 18 miles per gallon in 22 gallon tank
Honda Accord Hybrid – average fuel consumption: 35 miles per gallon in 17 gallons of tank
Honda Civic Hybrid – Average fuel mileage: 48 miles per gallon in 13 gallon tank
At 1200 miles per month, $ 3.00 per gallon gasoline, the cost analysis:
Land Rover Discovery – 3.3 tank fill-ups = $ 198.00 per month
Honda Accord Hybrid – 2.5 tank fill-ups = $ 113.00 per month
Honda Civic Hybrid – 2.5 tank fill-ups = $ 82.50 per month
As you can see, the only factor is that nobody says Gas tank capacity, the two Honda hybrids cost is only $ 30.00 apart because the agreement has more gas than the Civic. Furthermore, there is a reduction massive cost among the least fuel-efficient Civic Discovery and approximately $ 117.00 per month or around $ 1404.00 per year. They quickly absorb the savings through their monthly expenditure budget codes.
Also, if you can afford to buy a Land Rover Discovery, is what you really care about a $ 117.00 savings months, combined with the massive loss of interior space? Probably not, however, let's take another course in the reasoning of buying a hybrid vehicle – The environment.
If the intention is to help the environment, then yes, by all means buy a hybrid vehicle. Not only you save some money each month, you will do your part to help our planet to stop global warming. However, it will be reducing dependence on fossil fuels, nonrenewable source.
The full line of Honda vehicles made up of emissions from the most friendly vehicles of being manufactured, and are classified as LEV (Low-emission vehicles). This designation means the car is considered 70% more "clean" that 1999 California Basic emission standard for new cars. EV hybrids have the UL or ultra low emission vehicle classification and 85% more "clean". Of course, when using the electric motor, no emissions, period.
The real purpose of the hybrid is efficiency fuel and lower emissions – not to save money at the pump.
The annual cost savings on gas purchases is just the icing on the cake.
On the other hand we have to start somewhere, and the demand for such vehicles increases, they become more profitable to produce. So we hope to improve technically, pushes the development of competition then I start to see significant benefits.
Tips (any area that cover a wide range is geared toward global warming and energy conservation and safety.
Tips for saving fuel:
1. Losing the "lead foot" – of having a heavy foot or excessive throttle is usually attributed to a 67% loss in fuel efficiency.
2. Check the air pressure in your tires one once a week.
3. Fill out early in the morning – the gas is denser when cool.
4. Clean the outside of your vehicle – which reduces the air resistance.
5. Do not travel more than a few miles at the best price on gasoline – saving is devoured by his loss of time and fuel.
6. Once the vehicle has cooled, turn the air conditioning.
7. Be sure to keep to scheduled maintenance of your car is, any failure may detract from fuel efficiency and safety.
