How I can report the sale of a house inherited from my taxes?

I have a capital loss of $ 3000 for Annex D (actual loss of $ 3,383), but it was personal property, my loss is not deductible. I have to file Schedule D to report the sale of the house, but I do with the losses. Annex D says the recording of $ 3,000 on line 13 of 1040. Please help.

Did you actually live in the house? Or is it that is inherited and then just sell? If the estate sold an empty house, the farm was listed on a schedule D 1041 and the loss becomes tot through the beneficiaries of k-1. If you inherited the house and sold it without living it, you put on your 1040 Schedule D and to transmit to claim the loss. In fact, is considered a long-term investment. (You list the date of purchase as "legacy.") If the loss is more than $ 3,000, $ 3,000 will take this year and lead the others.
