starts with you. That’s a statement that you will have to remember throughout your search for your dream home. The reason is because throughout your journey of finding your dream home, you will find yourself being derailed one time too many. Everyone will want to give you advice on where is the best location, who’s the better realtor, who is better contractor, etc. so, remember, it’s YOUR dream home. When in doubt, refer to yourself. Better yet, browse through magazines and newspapers and cut out pictures of homes that you like, areas that you fancy and paste it into a special ‘My dream home project’ book. This way, you can’t go wrong.
The first thing to do is to determine the area where you want to get a house in. Your dream home should not be too far away from your work place, schools, family members, etc…unless you want it to be, of course. Get a real estate agent to help you buy the house off the original owner. Some websites actually allow you to key in an area code and they will give you a whole list of houses on sale in that area. If your dream house is listed, you’re in luck. They will assign a realtor to work with you on buying your dream home.
The next step towards buying your dream home is, of course, financing. If you have the cash, you can buy your dream home instantly. Nobody rejects cash! Well, unless the original owner wishes to keep the home because of sentimental reasons. If you’re like the rest of us, you may not have enough money to buy your dream home in cash. So, start researching on an affordable and most viable home loan.
The process between signing the agreement to getting the loan to having the keys to your dream home is a long way. This is a good time for you to find a contractor to design and construct your dream home for you. The best way to find a suitable contractor to design your dream home is to ask around – there’s nothing quite like referrals. Referrals mean they are satisfied with the services that have been provided by the contractor.
Designing and constructing your dream home is both a painful and pleasurable experience! I mean, you’re literally designing a home that you hope to live in for a couple of years, maybe even for a lifetime! It’s exciting as you watch every single inch of the house transform from an empty hollow shell into the home of your dreams! The artistic input from the designer, your own personal preferences all combine together – and viola! You have a dream home to live in.
This is also the time to discuss the inside of your home – would you like it to be cozy or clean and organized? Is there any particular style preference you think you should tell your designer/contractor? Your dream home should be consistent in all areas of the home – but they can have different characteristics. For example, exotic Asian look for the bedroom, French home look in the kitchen and the fun, jovial and cheery look for the kids’ bedrooms.
The most important thing to consider is the comfort level and practicality of your dream home.

Finding The Best Philippines Homes For You
December 6th, 2009
Pete Of course, when you are finding Philippines homes, you may not have to deal with huge problems. This is because the real estate industry in the Philippines is actually a very competitive industry. And remember, free competition always entails quality services and cheap prices. These are the reasons why many people are actually choosing the Philippines as their next residential location. However, we must not fall into the trap of just getting the first real estate property that we can encounter. In any competitive market, it is still the job of consumers to shop around for the best developers that offers the best Philippines homes available.
It is true that there are many different real estate developers that offer Philippines homes at prime locations. In fact, there are even low cost communities that are located right in the perimeter of the metropolis. However, these communities usually suffer the same urban living hassles that most urban dwellers experience. In this case, homes that is located near or in the urban centers also takes their share of the noise, pollution, and monotonous concrete facades that characterize urban communities. This would be very problematic for a consumer who wants to experience living in the outdoors.
There are also instances wherein developers offer homes that enjoy beautiful, wide open spaces. However, most of the time, these communities are just located many miles away from the major metropolis. This situation would also pose a problem to consumers who want the metropolis easily within reach. Surely, having Philippines homes that enjoy wide open spaces, while being within reach of major urban centers is the best deal. This is exactly what is offered by NUVALI by Ayala Land.
First, NUVALI offers the best Philippines homes that enjoy wide open spaces. In fact, these homes are actually located right in the center of a green environment. In this case, having your home located here would surely be a great place, especially when you are the person who loves the outdoors. In addition, NUVALI is in fact also an ecologically friendly planned community. The good thing, it is only located 30 minutes away from the major Philippine metropolis, making you enjoy the conveniences of a city easily. Finding a Use For The Languishing McMansion
November 20th, 2009
Pete There has certainly been a revival in housing sales over the last few months; condos and single family dwellings have been experiencing increased sales as the government has supported stimulus spending into real estate to help the economy along. However, seemingly left out of this real estate recovery has been the style of home that appears to be the inanimate mascot for the whole bloated mortgage and lending fiasco.
The drive for homeowners to purchase bigger and “better” homes well beyond their financial means is one of the suggested causes of our current economic climate and resultant real estate crash. As a result, there is a plethora of architectural behemoths on the market with no one interested in buying them, particularly not for the price that owners are looking to sell them for.
In our economic downfall, smaller homes are being snatched up while larger ones are mouldering on the market. A smaller home that has enough space for your family without being extravagant is a wise choice in this current trend of high unemployment and economic strife. Smaller homes are cheaper to heat and cool, can cost less to maintain, have less square footage to keep clean, and have more intimacy due to less sprawling floor plans. It’s no wonder that just like the Craftsman response to the monstrous Victorian architecture of the 19th century, there is a small home backlash going on now; there remains the problem of an excess of vacant large homes however.
Though many McMansions have seen a long stay on their local markets, some resourceful buyers are trying to find new uses for these bloated abodes. In some areas, McMansions are being disassembled and the pieces made into two homes to recycle the building materials. Some buyers are using the large homes as group homes for disabled or elderly residents; this option takes advantage of the proliferation of ensuite bathrooms and large industrial quality kitchens that many of these homes have. Some of these suburban mansions are also ideal to divide up for student housing or duplexes.
The one real roadblock to buyers making good use out of McMansions around the country is that of neighborhood zoning and protests from neighbors looking to protect their real or imagined property values. Many neighborhoods that are populated with these large-scale homes have residents who’re concerned that alternate uses of other homes in their neighborhood are going to somehow be more damaging to their property values than the proliferation of bank owned homes already is; fortunately, that is unlikely to be the case. Hopefully, more of these monstrous homes can find buyers with ideas to make them useful again.
